Khat Bell

Born on March 5, 1993, in San Diego, California, Khat was raised in Mesquite, Texas, which she proudly considers home. Growing up with two sisters and a brother, she embraced teamwork early and excelled in multiple sports before dedicating herself fully to volleyball in eighth grade. Her natural athleticism, paired with intense technical training, transformed her into one of the most powerful and versatile players in the game. By age sixteen, Khat had already made her mark on the international stage, representing the United States at the 2009 FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship in Thailand. She was soon recognized as one of the top high school volleyball prospects in the country, ranked the No. 2 recruit nationally by PrepVolleyball.com and named to the 2010 Under Armour All-America First Team. At the University of Texas at Austin, Khat became a standout player for the Texas Longhorns. She earned All-American honors three times, helped her team win four consecutive Big 12 Conference titles, and played a vital role in securing the 2012 NCAA National Championship—the program’s first since 1988. Khat finished her college career ranked fourth all-time in blocks per set at Texas and was named the Cobra Magazine National Defensive Player of the Year in 2012. Known for her versatility, she played every position her team required, solidifying her legacy as one of the program’s all-time greats. After graduating in 2015, Khat began her professional career with GS Caltex Seoul in South Korea, where she became one of the highest-paid professional women’s volleyball players in history. She later competed for Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rico, then in Turkey, and eventually joined the Petron Blaze Spikers in the Philippines. In 2018, she made headlines by scoring 42 points in a single match, marking one of the highest-scoring performances in Philippine Super Liga history. Today, Khat continues her career stateside as a member of Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball and League One Volleyball (LOVB), two U.S.-based leagues that are reshaping the future of professional volleyball and putting power back into the hands of athletes. Off the court, Khat has expanded her reach as a media personality and entertainment figure. She was featured on the Netflix hit show The Circle, where her down-to-earth, intelligent, and humorous personality attracted a whole new audience and showed the world she’s much more than an athlete. Her charisma and relatability have made her a natural fit for hosting opportunities, brand partnerships, and public speaking engagements.
